Selling a hoarder house for cash

Selling a hoarder house for cash

I ended up inheriting my grandmother’s home in Jax, Florida.

The place was a mess.

There was garbage on top of it. My grandmother was an intense hoarder that couldn’t let anything go. The amount of magazines and newspapers were insane. There was also tons of old medicine packaging, furniture, books, and clothing. After she passed I realized that I would need to go through the house, toss a lot of it, and then sell the place. It was devastating losing her and the last thing I wanted to do was throw out all her possessions. I knew it would be too hard to decide what to keep. So I ended up having a friend grab the mementos I remembered most. Then I contacted a Northeast Florida real estate company that does cash for home offers. The local cash home buyer was really great about my situation. He offered a price and then that was it. I settled, signed, and never looked back. The guy was in charge of cleaning out the place and then listing it for sale. I was really glad that I didn’t have to get up close and personal with all the stuff. I didn’t really want to think about all the things that were getting tossed. A hoarder house also tends to be dirty, smelly and there are embarrassing things in there. I am glad I got to remember my grandmother the best way possible, rather than see what she became later in life. The Jax real estate investors made this very difficult situation with a hoarder house the best it could be.
